Having used various other flavours of Linux my first install of Linux Mint was on a newly acquired IBM T43 laptop. Firstly, having received the lastest copy of Linux Format magazine with a LinuxMint bootable CD I decided to try it before installation. This worked a treat and I promptly went into install mode.
I was pleasantly surprised with the ease of installation (which was to be an XP dual boot). When I plugged the laptop into its docking station with scanner, seperate mouse and keyboard, external monitor, phone etc etc recognition was straight forward and mostly automatic. Where Linux Mint needed information this was easy to follow and smooth too.
More to come
